Drones and IoT in construction: from capture to useful information

Aerial captures and sensors observe different aspects of a site. Their value depends on how information is organized to answer the team's questions.

Drones and IoT in construction: from capture to useful information

Before selecting equipment, define what must be recorded, how often and for which decision. Technology should serve that need rather than create a parallel collection routine.

Visual capture to understand conditions

Photos and 3D reconstructions support consultation of conditions observed during a visit. Coverage, visibility and spatial reference must be assessed before comparing stages or taking measurements.

Sensors to track variables

A sensor can record a variable over time, but interpretation depends on installation, calibration and context. Records should identify the device and the conditions under which readings were taken.

Connect records to the project

Dates, locations and identifiers allow measurement series to be related to images and project elements. Without that association, users receive data but still lack an integrated view.

Define how information will be used

The workflow should establish who reviews records and what happens after a relevant observation. More collection is not a sufficient objective without a decision to support.

The Panpo perspective

From reference to application

Geminarium is being developed to organize captured reality alongside models and evidence. Sensor integration should be addressed according to the use case, available infrastructure and project-specific validation.
