From BIM to assisted analysis: AI and data updates

A digital twin becomes more useful when it receives new records and supports their interpretation within the project's context. AI can assist that process when its outputs remain traceable.

From BIM to assisted analysis: AI and data updates

Update frequency should follow the decision being supported. Continuous sensors, weekly visits and milestone captures are different strategies; none is universal.

Define an update routine

A capture plan should identify areas, frequency, expected coverage and responsibilities. Each new visit can then be related to existing records without mixing different construction states.

Use AI to prioritize review

Photos and point clouds may contain more information than a team can immediately examine. Assisted analysis can suggest areas and issues for review without turning every detection into an automatic conclusion.

Record uncertainty and limitations

Obstructions, reflections, low resolution and changing light affect data interpretation. Results should make these limitations visible and allow users to correct or reject an interpretation.

Do not confuse history with training

Stored corrections help teams revisit decisions and assess recurring patterns. They do not mean an AI model learns automatically: training and model updates require a separate validation process.

The Panpo perspective

From reference to application

Geminarium's intended workflow connects BIM, capture and human review. Automation should support analysis while keeping technical responsibility explicit and availability tied to project scope.
